Bond Alert for Clients of Deck Tech of Grover Beach Current Bond Will Be Cancelled as of 8 23 14 for Multiple Claims Made Against the Bond

Contractors and consumers who are in contract with Deck Tech Inc of Grover Beach should know that their license bond is being cancelled as of 8 23 2014.
It is unusual and not typical that a bond is cancelled by a bond company. Typical reasons for cancellation are to many claims against the bond and/or being uncooperative in assisting with a claim against a bond.

No reasons are provided at CSLB's website, BUT the bond company was happy to answer our questions as to why their bond was being cancelled.
Reason bond is being cancelled -Multiple claims made against their bond.
You are invited to make your own inquiries to HCC Surety at (310) 649-0990

From the CSLB website-
  • Failure to maintain continuous bond coverage will result in the license being suspended. Any work performed while the license is suspended is considered to be unlicensed and disciplinary action can be taken against you.
Therefore-A caution is issued to warn DeckTech clients to be careful and make sure that any contracts they have with DeckTech for work is either completed before the 23rd or that no work is done until a new bond is issued.

Any work done while a contractor's license is suspended is illegal and most importantly, DeckTech cannot legally collect for any such work done while their license is suspended.

Please check the status of DeckTech's license here to see if they have a new bond on or before the 23rd of August.   https://www2.cslb.ca.gov/OnlineServices/CheckLicenseII/LicenseDetail.aspx?LicNum=796956
