Bill Leys' Central Coast Waterproofing & Hill Brothers Chemical Company Teams Up With HABITAT FOR HUMANITY Project in Grover Beach

Teaming up together again, Central Coast Waterproofing and Desert Brand by Hill Brothers will provide the materials and donate the labor to Habitat for Humanity's latest project in Grover Beach CA.

Located at 7th and Longbranch, the new homes with 4 spacious second floor decks will be flashed and then Desert Crete, the metal lath based system from Hill Brothers, an ICC-ES evaluated system, will provide a traffic surface that is also a Class A and One Hour Fire Resistant rated product.

"Desert Brand has stepped up again to be a part of this worthy project and we're happy to provide Desert Crete decking for Habitat." said Adam Hill, sales manager for California's Desert Brand division.

I am glad to be a part of this project too and I look forward to sharing with you the pictures and progress on the project as it goes along.

Watch for new posts next week after we start the job!

Decks/Homes at Atascadero Habitat for Humanity Project Moves Forward

Working in conjunction with many other trades who are trying to finish their skilled trade projects-insulation/drywall, elctrical...I am working to dry in the decks for the painters to be able to finish painting the trim and siding...

The posts and railings are in and I have finished applying the base coat/fiberglass coat of the DESERT CRETE decking system from Hill Brothers.

Just in time too, as we got an early October rain storm last week...

Next week I'll be back to texture and seal the decks for their final finish. The volunteers will be coming in to do the landscaping and other work so that families can be moved in hopefully by Christmas.

CENTRAL COAST WATERPROOFING/HILL BROTHERS CHEMICAL COMPANY TEAM UP FOR HABITAT for HUMANITY

The Deck Expert's company CENTRAL COAST WATERPROOFING has donated it's labor and time to Habitat for Humanity's Atascadero project on Traffic Way, and will be applying the Desert Crete decking system from Hill Brothers Chemical Companies Desert Brand Division
that has been graciously donated by the company for this project. See www.DesertBrand.com for more information on their products.

Adam Hill of Hill Brothers said "We are happy to be a part of this worthy enterprise, and we will support our contractors who are willing to give back to the community."

Hill Brothers has been in business since 1923, manufacturing chemicals and flooring and decking products ever since. Desert Brand's Magnesite flooring has been in use since 1923 and is still popular today. Their new Desert Crete system is a cementious system that utilizes metal lath and polymer modified cements to achieve a high strength decking system that is used on buildings throughout the West.

"Central Coast Waterproofing is overjoyed at being able to volunteer our time to this project. As a good citizen of the world, we want to be a part of building family's dreams, and here was an opportunity. When Jon Wickstrom at Midland Homes asked us if we'd like to participate, there was no hesitation, we said YES immediately." said Bill Leys.

The base coat and flashing will be placed this coming week, and after most construction is completed, we'll come back and apply a finish coat.

Look for pictures of the install next week!
