Waterproofdeckcoatingadvice.com's vistors hits new high!

Here's some stats from our web stat's
Continuing to prove it's worth, our website last month shattered the record number of visitors we got in March (3390 visits) and April's high of 3957 visitors by 291 visitors, to reach 4248 visitors!
While most are still visiting us with common key words and search phrases, I always like to look and see what uncommon searches led a visitor to us. Someone wanted to know "what kind of cement does Desert Crete use?" to find us. Someone else was looking for deck coating seminars.
Web searches always look for someone to install decking, someone was looking for Pli-Dek installers last month, another was looking for Dex-O-Tex at Home Depot.
Strange requests that led to a visit included "waterproofing a wine barrel". I can't tell you how to waterproof it, but I'll empty it for you...another searcher was looking for suntan lotion information and became so engrossed with our website they forgot about suntan lotion!
Someone else is looking to open a deck coating business, they wanted to know "how to run a successful deck coating business".
Seems someone always wants to know about problems on decks too; due diligence is recommended and we have the information to do it with...one wanted to know about urethane disadvantages and another wanted to know about Westcoat ALX performance. Another searcher wanted to know if Magnesite had asbestos in it. Answer is yes, up through the 60's and 70's Magnesite was made with asbestos...take all proper precautions!
Well I hope in filling your head with these trivial stats, we didn't remove anything of real value!

Bozo the Clown Applied Urethane on This Job
Nostalgic for a trip down memory land, I'm going through old pictures of jobs I looked at. This one at Justin Vineyards in Paso Robles I didn't redo, it went to a suit I heard over the leaks and application process...but here's some pictures of the job, it's a pathetic looking mess that is a urethane system, brand unknown, that was put down over a damp substrate is the way I heard it, and it's outgassed.
A lesson in making sure your applicator is trained and experienced...

Carlisle Coatings introduces Barrier Coat waterproofing system for decks and foundations.
Carlisle Coatings and Waterproofing has broug Barriercoat to market for deck waterproofing and below grade as well. Traditionally below grade waterproofing hasn't been put on decks and deck coatings haven't been used in below grade applications.
Carlisle is a manufacturer of urethane type waterproofing.
Barricoat comes in 2 differnt systems, a single coat spray application (wonder how well spraying would work on decks) and a double-reinforced roller applied system.
More on the products later, when we get a chance to see them and how it's applied.

A Warranty to Watch Out For...Click here to read the maintenance requirements!
Before buying Poly Coat deck coatings, you might want to read their "Mandatory Maintenance and Care" Manual, which outlines all the things one must do if one hopes to get their limited warranty coverage.
Their clauses written fine print is inexcusable, and in my opinion is unethical.
What exactly does their fine print contain? The requirement to document with still pictures or video of their product applied as per the inspection requirements. But hold on-you have to perform inspections on a mandatory schedule, and you must send in the pictures of the inspections within 20 days. AND THIS IS IN THEIR FINE PRINT!
This is a total weasel clause and as a result, their warranty requirements puts this company on my personal list of "DO NOT BUY FROM" companies.
There is also the companies recommendation that you enter into a maintenance agreement with your installer...a steady source of residual income for him if they work it right. Reading through the maintenance instructions, there's so many don't do this and don't do that's where I wonder if I should even be walking on it at all...
C'mon Polycoat, you can do better that this...
